The Man Behind Our Lobster and Crab

If you’ve ever tucked into a plate of fresh lobster or crab at Beach House Falmouth or Harbour House, chances are it came straight from the hands of Ned Bailey. A local fisherman through and through. Ned grew up in Mylor, just around the corner from Flushing.

For years, he’s been supplying Jack, our head chef, with the best lobster and crab. Long before Beach House Falmouth came to be, back when it was Hooked On The Rocks.

His lobster and crab are caught just off the coast of Falmouth, brought ashore, and delivered straight to our kitchens, no middlemen, no fuss, just the freshest shellfish you can get. He’s an essential part of what we do, and we’re always grateful for his skill, hard work and of course his trusty sidekick Star, who keeps things running smoothly on board.

Next time you’re enjoying a crab or lobster dish here, you’ll know exactly where it came from.

As a seafood restaurant’s in Cornwall, we’re proud to champion sustainability and support our coastal community. Through the National Lobster Hatchery’s Buy One, Set One Free initiative, every lobster dish enjoyed at Beach House Falmouth and Harbour House Flushing, contributes £1 towards their vital conservation work in Padstow. You can read more about our Buy One Set One Free programme with the National Lobster Hatchery here.
